"For a Closer Walk With Thee"
It's Here! "For a Closer Walk With Thee" is the title of a gem of a booklet chock full of ideas on how to grow our relationship with God. Emphasis is on devotional time and the awareness of God's presence. The book was conceived by a church member and includes ideas from Rev. Rumble and various members of EWPC. The booklets are located in the narthex or if you would like one mailed to you, please call the church office at 562-698-9948.

Chancel Choir Update
Changes are coming in the choir. Why not be a part of it? We will be choosing a new organist, and your input would be very much appreciated. If you rehearse with the choir on Thursdays at 7 and/or Sundays at 9:30, you will get a sneak preview of our new accompanist. The candidates will be auditioning with a rehearsal and Sunday during February. Mark Travis would welcome your comments.
He would also welcome your participation in bell choir which practices every Thursday at 6, and plays one Sunday a month, usually the third. Let us know if you need babysitting, and that can be arranged, too.

Movie Night-Friday, February 24
There WILL be a children’s Movie Night on Friday, February 24, but we don’t have the title of the movie at this time!  Movie Nights are held on the fourth Friday of the month, and are a great way for families to unwind and spend an evening together.  If you have never been to a movie night, they are a lot of fun! We bring blankets, sleeping bags, pillows, etc. and spread out on the floor in Purdy Hall. Most of our Movie Nights also involve crafts or special make-it-and-eat-it treats that are related to the theme of the movie.  We usually start around 7:00, but occasionally move the time up if we have a longer movie and/or special crafts.  Our target age is about 5 years old, but all ages are welcome and the movies we show are great fun for the whole family.  If you have friends or relatives with small children, please spread the word!

MOPS AT EWPC
MOPS has planned exciting activities for February
On Sunday, February 5th, MOPS will host their annual Super bowl/Valentines Bake Sale. You won’t want to miss “loving kickoff” in Purdy Hall right after church!
MOPS will also host two guests in February. On the 7th. MAC make-up artist Adrianna will teach us the artistry of looking beautiful.
On the 21st, Lisa Choh, Christian author, will share her newly published book, Everyday Comforts, a collection of 365 messages that God put on Lisa’s heart.
The weekly Bible study continues on Thursday evenings at 7:30PM.
MOPS welcomes guests and new members!

This Is For You and It's FREE...
Are you looking for a way to connect with the real God?
Are you looking for Bible study that invites you to use your brain?
Are you looking for a family of faith that will care for you and pray for you?

The Bridge Christian Fellowship may be just what you're looking for. Our worship time is simple, yet up to date. Our Bible study looks beyond those answers that seem "too easy" to consider what the original authors wanted to say to the people of their own day and why. In this way we can get a better handle on what God wants to say to us today. Our prayer time addresses whatever needs we bring. We pray for each other, and we pray for those concerns that are on our hearts.

Feel free to come as you are. Shorts and T-shirts are every bit as welcome as shirts and ties. Feel free to bring kids. We will have childcare available. Come ready to speak up, if you'd like to, as we value each other's thoughts and opinions. Especially bring an open heart, for you'll have a chance to encounter the real God and you'll meet some pretty terrific people as well.

The Bridge meets on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 PM in the main followship room (Purdy Hall) at East Whittier Presbyterian Church. We usually finish around 8:45 PM. The church is located on Second Street between Strub and Michigan. The address is 14061 Second Street. Please call the church office if you have questions. 562-698-9948.
